Hurricane Helene Relief: Homes for Fairview in Western NC

I'm Cory Wall, a Fairview, NC native. I am working with Joanne Winkler, Amy Bertelli, Phil Troyer and Jenny Brunet who are truly the brain of this beautiful project. In the wake of Hurricane Helene's unprecedented devastation, the Fairview and Garren Creek communities in North Carolina are facing immense challenges. The hurricane's impact has been profound, with catastrophic flooding and landslides resulting in significant loss of life and property. Notably, the Garren Creek area experienced severe flooding and landslides, leading to the tragic loss of 13 lives, including 11 members of a single family.

The Fairview Fire and Garren Creek Fire Districts have been instrumental in rescue and recovery efforts, despite suffering personal losses. Battalion Chief Tony Garrison of the Fairview Fire Department, who also served with the Garren Creek Fire Department, tragically lost his life while attempting a rescue during the hurricane.

The destruction has not only taken lives tragically but, ruined infrastructure and homes.

The path to recovery is daunting, with residents and first responders working tirelessly to rebuild.

Our Mission

In response to this crisis, we are establishing a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Fairview and Garren Creek fire district communities in their rebuilding efforts. Our mission is to provide new homes for families so they can restore their homes and lives. Our 501c3 is OFFICIAL! My relationship is just a citizen trying to help - I've been to meetings with the board members of this potential 501c3 and want to start helping these builders rebuild.

Rebuilding Homes: Assisting families in reconstructing their homes

We may use the funds to also help get folks soil scientist, structural engineers, debris removal, and anything else to make them feel safe at home and get folks back into their homes.
