Hurricane Fiona relief fund for Judy Simms.

On September 24th hurricane Fiona tore off my mother's roof to her mini home, exposing all of her belongings to the elements which the hurricane then ripped through leaving nothing but memories.

My name is Malaya Simms, and I come to you humbly and graciously in need of assistance for a person I wholeheartedly believe is the strongest woman I know, My Mom!

My mother was born, raised, and continues to live in the community of Upper Hammonds Plains.

This amazing mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to so many has suffered over the last 15 years from a condition called IC (interstitial cystitis). This incurable condition causes her to be in excruciatingly, debilitating pain 85% of the time. She has tried medication, changing her diet, and countless procedures, all to no avail. This condition has taken an immeasurable toll on her body which may have been an underlying factor in the major stroke she had in 2018 followed soon after by a heart attack in 2019.

In addition to the personal strife, she faces she selflessly finds it within herself to provide care to her aging father in his time of need. Very few people know of the severity of her condition because she never asks for help, she never complains, and she's always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, even after just getting out of surgery if someone is in need, she's there despite her own pain. This is why I feel she's the strongest person in the world.

My mother is the most selfless person I know but also just as prideful and has a hard time asking for help even if she requires it so I have humbled myself to ask on her behalf.
