Humboldt March for Science
March for Science, march for truth, march for facts!
Science has often been overlooked or dismissed in the political arena. Given the current climate in Washington, it is imperative that scientists and non-scientists alike fight for, and demand, that policies affecting the environment, health, and well-being of our society be science-based and suported with facts.
On Earth Day, April 22nd 2017 around the country and world, millions of people will gather to march and draw awareness to the importance of science in our world
Locally, the Humboldt March for Science will take place in Arcata and will include a science expo at the D St. Neighborhood Center 10-2 with information and activities from local non-profits, government agencies, and local students. The pre-march rally will take place from 2:00 to approximately 3:00 with speakers from local groups. At approximately 3:00 we will march into downtown to the plaza and back, and the event will culiminate with four facilitated mini break-out sessions to promote dialogue and plan the next steps for action.
Your financial support will allow us to focus our efforts on planning the march and educational components.
