Help us save our families from the hell of war in Gaza

Hello, we are Mohammed Zaqout and Ibrahim Al-Salut. We live in Gaza in the midst of a brutal war that has been raging for a year and a half. Today, we share our painful story, which is just a small glimpse of the ongoing suffering the people of Gaza are experiencing... We are just trying to survive.

The bombing never stops for a moment. The sounds of explosions echo everywhere, and death surrounds us from every direction. We are exposed to bombing and death at any moment. The situation has become worse than it was before, and we can hardly find a single moment in which we feel safe. Destruction surrounds us from every side, and fear grips our hearts every second.

Since this disaster began, we have lost everything: our homes, our jobs, our dreams, and even the most basic necessities of life. We face genocide, starvation, displacement, exodus, and insecurity, amidst a stifling blockade, aid cuts, closed crossings, and skyrocketing prices.

We lived for days without sleep, without adequate food, without medicine, without shelter. We had to adapt to a new reality, but all we found was hunger, cold, and constant anxiety.

We used to work hard to provide for our children, but today we can't even find bread. Our children sleep on the floor in unsafe places, and we move from one destroyed house to another to escape the constant bombing.

The Story of Muhammad Zaqout

I am Muhammad Zaqout, married and the father of two-and-a-half-year-old twins. I studied public relations and media at Al-Aqsa University and supported my family before the war destroyed everything. My father has suffered from a motor disability since childhood after his feet were amputated due to gangrene. Just a few days ago, he underwent surgery on his hand due to a serious infection. My mother had brain tumors removed days before the war and needed ongoing treatment, but the war deprived her of the necessary medical care, exacerbating her suffering.

I used to work in paper and leather printing, but my work no longer exists. It has been reduced to rubble by the bombing, and I am no longer able to support my family. I also suffer from an old injury dating back to 2016, when I fell from a five-story building while practicing parkour, resulting in 51 bone fractures. Although I have recovered, I am unable to perform tasks that require significant physical effort.

Ibrahim Al-Salut's Story

I am Ibrahim Al-Salut. I graduated with a degree in International Secretarial Studies from Al-Aqsa University. I used to work as an accountant in a store for a small wage that barely made ends meet. But the war destroyed the place where I worked, leaving me completely without a source of income.

The war not only destroyed my home, but also deprived me of one of the people dearest to my heart: my father, who died of a heart condition after being unable to obtain the necessary treatment due to the blockade and medicine shortages in January 2024. My mother also suffers from a chronic condition that causes dangerous blood clots, and she requires expensive daily medications that I cannot afford after losing my job.

During the last war, I was shot in my right hand during the ground invasion of Khan Younis. Although it was a minor injury, it reminds me daily of the brutality of war. I also suffered a serious accident in 2020 when I fell from a four-story building while working, causing fractures in my pelvis and neck. Although I recovered, the effects still affect me today.

We write to you today with our hearts heavy with pain. We ask that every person with a heart stand with us. Today, we are in an unbearable situation. We live without shelter, without a source of income, and we are trying hard to provide our families with a minimum of a decent life. Our goal for this campaign is:

• Food, water, and medicine for our families

• Clothing and essentials for our children

• A safe place to seek refuge that protects our children from danger

• The money needed to leave Gaza when the crossing opens, in search of a safe life and a better future for our families

• Providing the necessary medical treatment for my mother and Ibrahim's mother – obtaining medicine has become a daily struggle due to rising prices and lack of income.

ساعدونا لننقذ عائلاتنا من جحيم الحرب في غزة

مرحبًا، نحن محمد زقوت و إبراهيم السلوت، نعيش في غزة وسط الحرب الشرسة التي نعاني منها منذ عام ونصف ؛ نشارككم اليوم قصتنا المؤلمة، التي هي مجرد لمحة صغيرة من معاناة مستمرة يعيشها أهل غزة … نحن فقط نحاول البقاء على قيد الحياة.

القصف لا يتوقف لحظة واحدة. أصوات الانفجارات تدوي في كل مكان، والموت يحاصرنا من كل اتجاه. نحن معرضون للقصف والموت في أي وقت. الأوضاع أصبحت أسوأ مما كانت عليه في السابق، فلا نكاد نجد لحظة واحدة نشعر فيها بالأمان. الدمار يحيط بنا من كل جانب، والخوف يتملك قلوبنا كل ثانية.

منذ أن بدأت هذه الكارثة، فقدنا كل شيء: منازلنا، أعمالنا، أحلامنا، وحتى أبسط مقومات الحياة. نواجه الإبادة، التجويع، التشريد، النزوح، وانعدام الأمان، في ظل حصار خانق وانقطاع المساعدات، وإغلاق المعابر، وارتفاع جنوني في الأسعار.

عشنا أيامًا بلا نوم، بلا طعام كافٍ، بلا دواء ، بلا مأوى ، كان علينا أن نتأقلم مع واقع جديد، لكننا لم نجد سوى الجوع والبرد والقلق المستمر

كنا نعمل بجهد لنؤمن لقمة العيش لأطفالنا، واليوم لا نجد حتى الخبز.. أطفالنا ينامون على الأرض في أماكن غير آمنة، وننتقل من منزل مدمّر إلى آخر هربًا من القصف المستمر.

حكاية محمد زقوت

أنا محمد زقوت، متزوج وأب لطفلين توأم في عمر السنتين والنصف. درست العلاقات العامة والإعلام في جامعة الأقصى، وكنت أعيل عائلتي قبل أن تدمر الحرب كل شيء. والدي يعاني من إعاقة حركية منذ طفولته بعد بتر قدميه بسبب الغرغرينا، وقبل أيام فقط، خضع لعملية جراحية في يده بسبب التهاب خطير. أما والدتي، فقد أجرت عملية لاستئصال أورام المخ قبل الحرب بأيام وكانت بحاجة إلى علاج مستمر، لكن الحرب حرمتها من الرعاية الطبية اللازمة، مما زاد من معاناتها.

كنت أعمل في مجال الطباعة الورقية والجلدية، لكن عملي لم يعد موجودًا، فقد تحول إلى ركام بفعل القصف، ولم أعد قادرًا على إعالة أسرتي. أعاني أيضًا من إصابة قديمة تعود لعام 2016، عندما كنت أمارس رياضة الباركور وسقطت من مبنى مكون من 5 طوابق، ما أدى إلى إصابتي بـ51 كسرًا في العظام، ورغم أنني تعافيت، فإنني غير قادر على القيام بالأعمال التي تتطلب جهدًا بدنيًا كبيرًا.

حكاية إبراهيم السلوت

أنا إبراهيم السلوت، تخرجت في تخصص السكرتاريا الدولية من جامعة الأقصى. كنت أعمل كمحاسب في أحد المحلات مقابل أجر بسيط بالكاد كان يكفي قوت يومنا، لكن الحرب دمرت المكان الذي كنت أعمل فيه، لتتركني بلا مصدر دخل تمامًا.

الحرب لم تدمر منزلي فقط، بل حرمتني أيضًا من أعز الأشخاص إلى قلبي، والدي، الذي توفي بسبب مرض في القلب، بعدما عجز عن الحصول على العلاج اللازم في ظل الحصار ونقص الدواء خلال شهر يناير 2024. والدتي أيضًا تعاني من مرض مزمن يتسبب في تجلطات خطيرة، وهي بحاجة إلى أدوية يومية مرتفعة الثمن، لا يمكنني تأمينها بعد أن فقدت عملي.

تعرضت خلال الحرب الأخيرة لإصابة بطلق ناري في يدي اليمنى أثناء الاجتياح البري لمدينة خانيونس، وعلى الرغم من أنها إصابة طفيفة، فإنها تذكرني يوميًا بوحشية الحرب. كما أنني كنت قد تعرضت لحادث خطير عام 2020، عندما سقطت من مبنى مكون من 4 طوابق أثناء العمل، ما تسبب لي في كسور بالحوض والرقبة، ورغم أنني تعافيت، فإن آثاره لا تزال تؤثر عليّ حتى اليوم.

نكتب إليكم اليوم وقلوبنا مثقلة بالألم، نرجو من كل إنسان لديه قلب أن يقف معنا. اليوم، نحن في وضع لا يمكن تحمله. نعيش بلا مأوى، بلا مصدر رزق، ونحاول جاهدين أن نوفر لعائلاتنا الحد الأدنى من الحياة الكريمة. هدفنا من هذه الحملة هو

• الطعام والماء والدواء لعائلاتنا

• ملابس وأساسيات الحياة لأطفالنا

• مكان آمن نلجأ إليه يحمي أبناءنا من الخطر

• المبلغ اللازم لمغادرة غزة عند فتح المعبر، بحثًا عن حياة آمنة ومستقبل أفضل لعائلاتنا

• تامين العلاجات اللازمة لوالدتي ووالدة إبراهيم – فالحصول على الدواء أصبح معاناة يومية بسبب ارتفاع الأسعار وانعدام الدخل.

كل تبرع، مهما كان بسيطًا، هو طوق نجاة لنا. أنتم أملنا الأخير.
