Hi friend, thank you for reading & I appreciate your support.
My name is Yana, I was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine and moved to Canada when I was ten while most of my family remained in Ukraine.
The photo above is of the city where I was born & grew up. It is an example of what beautiful & independent Ukraine has endured. As of Feb 24, 2022, so many people’s lives changed:
The photo above is of the city where I was born & grew up. It is an example of what beautiful & independent Ukraine has endured. As of Feb 24, 2022, so many people’s lives changed:
- Nearly 4 million Ukrainians were fortunate to escape, some died trying.
- Over 39 million stayed to defend their home, some giving their lives for their country.
- People were forced underground to avoid being bombed.
- Communities under fire were cut off from power, heat, & water.
- Air sirens & shelling have become the background noise.
- Citizens of Ukraine lack access to human necessities such as food & medicine. Many were displaced with only what they were able to grab.
- While I wholeheartedly believe that war aggression is wrong, to help understand the scale of this attack - in the first 22 days, 11,000 missiles struck Ukraine. In five years in Syria, 100 missiles were dropped.
It is my commitment to help bring human necessities to heavily impacted regions of Ukraine. To ensure that your generous donation benefited grassroots organizations that redistribute 100% of the donations back to Ukrainian citizens rather than well-known ones with heavy administrative overhead, I worked with my cousin who stayed in Ukraine and provides psychological counseling for those affected.
In the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky:
All fundraising from this initiative will be divided between two organizations that purchase and deliver humanitarian and medical aid in Ukraine. Every dollar that you contribute will go directly back into communities under attack.
Сергій Притула showcases (in Ukrainian) the supplies that have already been distributed to the defenders of Ukraine. The warehouse gets depleted quickly and receives more requests than supplies. To date, he has raised more than 30 million hryvnias ( $1.2 M CAD), distributing winter and basic necessities clothing, life-saving gear, and supplies.
Distribute financial aid to the south-eastern regions of Ukraine. They provide humanitarian aid, organization of volunteers, shipment of supplies throughout Ukraine, transportation for evacuees, and housing. This region has experienced a heavy influx of Mauripol residents; one of the cities heavily under siege.
Thank you for your generosity from the bottom of my heart.
Слава Україні!
P.S. I am going to cover any platform fees incurred in this fundraiser. Go Fund Me was more legitimate than an e-transfer!
