Once Again, We Are Being Called to Help

The need is here once again.

Families in the Texas Hill Country and West Texas are facing devastating circumstances, and there is an urgent need for quilts. Once again, HUGS from Texas is preparing to do what we have done time and time again: step forward and help.

But we need your help to continue. We are currently gathering quilts for Uvalde, Texas.

In just the past year and a half, HUGS from Texas has placed quilts into the hands of more than 1,200 people affected by disasters and tragedies.

❤️ 478 quilts were taken to North Carolina for those affected by Hurricane Helene.

❤️ More than 500 quilts were provided to those affected by the devastating July 4, 2025 flooding event in the Texas Hill Country.

❤️ 131 quilts were taken to Bridgeport, Texas, for those affected by the tornadoes.

❤️ In May 2026, 113 quilts were sent to Bismarck, North Dakota, following a devastating apartment fire that burned more than 100 units and displaced many residents, including many with disabilities. With the help of local Lions Club members, these quilts were distributed directly to those affected.

And now, the call has come again.

Quilts are needed in the Texas Hill Country and West Texas, and we want to be there.

Every quilt HUGS from Texas provides is given at no cost to the recipient. But getting these quilts ready and into the hands of those who need them takes resources. Donations help us purchase batting and backing, complete donated quilt tops, and cover shipping costs so we can continue getting quilts to people who need them most.

HUGS stands for Helping You Get Stronger.

A quilt cannot replace a home or undo what has happened. But it can wrap someone in warmth and remind them that they have not been forgotten.
