This is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to do putting myself out there and asking for help. I’ve always tried to be the strong one. The provider. The support system. The full-time mom, full-time wife, full-time business owner… and somehow, I’ve managed to carry the weight of it all for so long.
But lately, life has gotten heavy too heavy to carry alone.
Over the past few years, our family has faced challenge after challenge. My youngest son was diagnosed with a condition that requires constant care, therapies, and emotional support. At the same time, we’ve been through a custody battle for my bonus son, whom I’ve now taken full custody of. We continue to fight for child support from both biological parents, but it’s a never-ending uphill battle.
To add to it all, my husband Tom has recently been deemed completely disabled. His health has rapidly declined, and he’s had several medical scares in recent months. We’re currently in the middle of the long and frustrating fight for disability benefits a fight that our lawyer hasn’t given up on, and neither have we. But in the meantime, we’ve lost his income.
Running my business is the only source of income we have right now. I’ve done everything I can to keep it afloat and provide for our family, but it’s simply not enough. Taking on a second job isn’t an option with Tom’s health and the needs of both boys and unfortunately, we don’t have outside support we can lean on.
Now, we’re at a point where we’re in real danger of losing our home. The same home that’s been our safe space, our foundation, and the only place our boys truly feel secure.
It’s taken everything in me to write this. I’m not one to ask for help but right now, I have to. If you’re able to donate, share, or even just offer a kind word, it would mean more to us than you know. Every little bit helps us fight to stay afloat, to keep our boys safe, and to hold onto the life we’re still trying so hard to build.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
