Ebony is the lady who works the stir fry station at Farmers for High Point University. Throughout our almost two years here she has consistently been the happiest, kindest, and hardest worker we have ever encountered. If you eat at Farmers you know exactly who she is.
We always speak with her while we wait on our food to cook. Today, she shared that she is saving money for a car. She and her mom work two jobs each, 7 days a week. She said she is trying to save up to $1,200 for a down payment on a car.
While eating dinner, we decided that we could do something to help her. With the help of our friends, fellow students, and the HPU family we believe that we can raise enough funds to get her a car. We don't want to buy the car for her but help her find the best car. She said all she wants is something with four wheels that can drive her to and from work. Also, we want to make sure she does not have to worry about a car payment every month.
We set the fundraiser goal to $8,500 to try and raise enough money to cover the costs of a car.
