Hola, mi nombre es Jessica González Núñez, soy de Colombia.

Llegué a Estados Unidos buscando mejores oportunidades para mi familia, llena de esperanza y sueños. Sin embargo, poco tiempo después mi vida dio un giro inesperado cuando fui diagnosticada con una enfermedad rara llamada dermatomiositis.

Esta enfermedad ha afectado gravemente mis músculos, piel y órganos vitales como riñones, corazón y pulmones. También padezco leishmaniasis y fibromialgia. Llegué a quedar sin poder caminar ni cuidar de mí misma, con caídas frecuentes y dependencia total de ayuda.

Mi esposo era el único sostén económico del hogar, pero actualmente se encuentra detenido por inmigración. Debido a mi condición de salud, no puedo trabajar, y hoy me encuentro sola en este país con mi hijo, enfrentando una situación muy difícil.

Estoy recaudando fondos para poder cubrir gastos médicos, medicamentos, transporte a citas médicas, alimentación y renta.

Adjunto fotos para mostrar el cambio tan drástico que he sufrido a causa de esta enfermedad.

Cualquier ayuda, por pequeña que sea, significa muchísimo para nosotros.

Hello, my name is Jessica González Núñez, and I am originally from Colombia.

I came to the United States searching for better opportunities for my family, full of hope and dreams. Sadly, shortly after arriving, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with a rare disease called dermatomyositis.

This illness has severely affected my muscles, skin, and vital organs, including my kidneys, heart, and lungs. I also suffer from leishmaniasis and fibromyalgia. At one point, I was unable to walk or care for myself, experiencing frequent falls and complete dependence on others.

My husband was the sole provider for our family, but he is currently detained by immigration authorities. Due to my health condition, I am unable to work, and I am now alone in this country with my son, facing an extremely difficult situation.

I am raising funds to help cover medical expenses, medications, transportation to medical appointments, food, and rent.

Photos are included to show the drastic physical changes caused by this illness.
