Hi Howard Area Community gardeners and friends of the garden!

Welcome to the 2026 gardening season.

You can pay your annual membership donation here. The annual donation is flexible. We ask for a minimum donation of $40-$80 depending on what you can afford. We keep the minimum donation low to make sure that gardening is accessible to everyone regardless of means. If you feel you can contribute a bit more than this, please do. Your donations help pay for waivers for low-income gardeners.

We primarily use donations to purchase mulch and compost for the garden, purchase hoses and tools, pay for maintenance and upkeep, and to keep the sidewalks around the garden free of snow and ice in the winter. We also use donations for special projects, such as building patios and parkway beds.

All donations are held for us by NeighborSpace, the non-profit that provides administrative support and protection for 120 community gardens in Chicago.
