In the early hours of August 16th, around 3 a.m., a devastating accident turned my grandparents' peaceful night into chaos. A group of four teenagers, driving a stolen car, lost control and crashed through their property — destroying everything in their path.

The stolen vehicle tore through their yard, ripped apart the metal ramp my grandfather relies on to get in and out of the house, smashed into two vehicles (one now totaled), and barreled through their garage, leaving it beyond repair. Part of their porch was also damaged. The crash caused thousands of dollars in damage — and yet, none of the individuals responsible are being held financially accountable.

Thankfully, my grandparents were not physically harmed — but they were jolted awake by the crash and left in complete shock. Now, they are being forced to cover the cost of the damage themselves: the deductibles for two vehicles, rebuilding the garage, replacing the ramp, and repairing their porch.

My grandfather uses a walker and can no longer safely leave the house without the ramp. The financial and emotional toll this has taken on them is heartbreaking especially because they did nothing wrong.

My family and I are hoping to raise funds to surprise them with some much-needed support and ease the burden they’ve unfairly been left with. Every dollar will go directly toward repairs and helping restore their home to a safe condition.
