Running for Our Veterans: My First Half Marathon
Hi everyone!
My name is Natalie and in April this year, I’ll be taking on the challenge of running my first half marathon in support of Royal British Legion Industries. A cause that’s incredibly close to my heart. My husband, along with his best friend, are both veterans, and I’ve seen firsthand the challenges they face, particularly around mental health. I’m running to raise awareness of the support veterans need, and to highlight the incredible work that RBLI does for those who have served our country.
This race is not just about raising awareness but also a personal goal for me. Earlier this year, I suffered a severe back injury that had me out of action for four months. It was one of the hardest experiences of my life, and it felt like I would never get back to full strength. But now, I’m determined to prove to myself and others that anything is possible with enough perseverance.
For those of you who know me, you know I’ve always been more focused on weightlifting and bodybuilding—I’m not a runner by any stretch! The furthest I’ve ever run is 10k, so this half marathon is a huge challenge for me physically and mentally. But I’m ready to tackle it head-on.
I would be so grateful for your support, whether it’s through donations or simply sharing this page. Every little bit helps me get closer to my goal of supporting veterans and raising awareness for mental health.
Thank you so much for your support!
