My name is Melanie Norton, and I want to share my plan with you. We have many people who, due to reasons beyond their control, have lost just about everything and are living in Shelters.

One such case is a lady with two young teens we just met. They are stuck in a vicious cycle. She wants to work and get someplace to live. She wants to contribute. But she's had many blocks put in her place that are confusing and disheartening. She doesn't know what to do.

My husband and I want to help them. We know how to do it. We've done it before. But we are already stretched financially and lack the space to take them in.

That's not stopping us, though. We are actively working to obtain a trailer home as a temporary residence for them on our property. This will be the first Beacon Place. We will work with her and her kids to get them engaged and self-sufficient. We will get her past this.

This means everything to us.

The broken social system angers us.

And we know we are not alone.

 

We also want to start a program geared towards getting like-minded people with the tools and empowerment to do this as well. Mentor, share resources.

Let's show people miracles can happen. Make Beacon Place Innisfil a reality.

We seek an initial $20,000.00 to obtain an excellent temporary shelter and ensure all proper permits and rules are followed.
