Leo and Nai are partners living in East Oakland in need of rent, food, and medical costs.

Leo lost his job recently as a result of physical abuse from the owner-- he was fired without cause almost immediately after bringing a specific assault to the attention of management.  This deeply affected his income-- it was his primary employment, and because of racist stereotyping and protection of the owner's image, he can no longer afford rent and other costs of living.

Around the same time, Nai required urgent medical care including the cost of an ambulance, hospital stay, and post-care. This is a huge debt to acquire, and on top of it, they were no longer able to continue at their job.

Both Nai and Leo are caring, generous, and active in the community.  They are both in school and trying to dedicate the time needed for their goals.
