Housing for Hua 2020
This Go Fund Me campaign is on behalf of Clan Mother Hua Anwa, the spiritual lead of Circles of Empowerment, a 501 C# non-profit organization and non-denominational church in San Luis Obispo County, California that serves up personal empowerment for those who seek to know more about the Red Road, regardless of ethnic affiliation. Hua is between a rock and a hard place due to two events: the raising of her rent to an untenable level, and the simultaneous loss of monies to the organization such that the church can no longer pay her the modest stipend that has been virtually her sole source of income for the past ten years or so while she has worked full-time on behalf of the Circles of Empowerment community. She will move to Oregon this spring if no alternative housing situation comes to light by March.
During these many years, Hua has been offering regular ceremony such as a monthly Sweat Lodge, annual Long Dance and Vision Quest, and numerous pipe ceremonies, as well as offering teachings and intensive trainings in these cultural arts. She has been an invited speaker and teacher around California and beyond, and has initiated cultural exchanges with other spiritual leaders in related communities. She has given of herself selflessly for decades and served hundreds and hundreds of students, seekers and those in need of support and healing.
Because of circumstances beyond our control concerning the difficulty in finding a Long Dance site this past year, the church is now unable to pay Hua even her small stipend. This next year should be Long Dance's 30th anniversary, and there is an opportunity to purchase land with the help of an anonymous donor, but none of that can happen if Hua has to leave the area. Please watch the video for further details and please make a donation - even small amounts will add up quickly, and perhaps some angels will come in with their check books as well.
Please also share this widely and speak about this campaign with your friends, colleagues and peers. We can make this transition successfully if we all pull together, and I can't imagine a better year to keep our Clan Mother by our side at the Western gate than this pivotal, transitional year of 2020.
Thank you, for all you do - seen and unseen.
Blessings, Tobey White Heart
