Hi, my name is Cam and I am starting this fundraiser for my brother and your friend Derek.

On Thursday May 5th a fire ripped through the building his apartment is in and left him and his 2 dogs having to to vacate the premises without hesitation and only the clothes on his back. The fire was very severe and took 5 1/2 hours for the firefighters of Chemainus to extinguish. Everything is destroyed from smoke and water damage.

He is now displaced and living a hotel temporarily and has no home and no clothes and what not.

For those who don’t know, Derek’s health has been horrible to say the least. He is on Dialysis and waiting for a kidney transplant, and his diabetes is taking a toll on him.

He has lost all his medication and most of his things for his at home dialysis treatment which he has to do every 3 hours.

It makes sense for him to move off of Vancouver island and back to the Okanagan now where he has more support.

the expenses which he will need to cover the next few months for clothes, food, medication, transportation, travel expenses for the move, first and last months rent, damage deposit and so on and so on will be a burden and near impossible to obtain.

Please help out my brother and your friend who would do the same in a heartbeat if he could.
