Giving Tuesday is a Global Initiative which focuses on giving every person a chance to be part of radical generosity in a world of need. At Hostage US this means inviting everyone to participate in creating an organization that leaves no American hostage or wrongful detainee, or their family members, without necessary resources. On the Tuesday following the American Thanksgiving holiday, we ask our community to consider their bounty and share a part of their abundance with families who are suffering unfathomable fear and immeasurable grief over the detention of a loved one overseas.

Now more than ever, we are asked to provide resources and support to families who do not know the fate of their loved one held captive overseas. Wherever a captive is held, Hostage US is present for their families.

Hostage US exists to provide resources for families as they await the return of their loved one and support for the captives when they begin their long journey home and return to their new normal. We do this completely free of charge through partnerships with expert service providers and donations from people like you.

During this year’s Giving Tuesday, held on the 28th of November, Hostage US is looking to raise $30,000 to support families and returning hostages who need assistance. We appreciate that this is a bold goal, but we are acutely aware that Hostage US is the only organization in America which does the work that we do… giving hope to frightened families where there is none.
