Horton Public Library - Support Fund
Donation protected
Horton Public Library is requesting continued community support in raising funding for all Library needs.
Our construction on the basement, egress windows, tile drainage system, and walls is complete. Thank you to all those who helped support this project. The community raised a total of over $2,800 dollars towards the total cost of $28,238.
Sadly, we do not have a Friends of the Library group to aid in normal fundraising efforts. So for additional funding or future needs this is currently our only route for organized fundraising. We do have other facility repair projects in mind that we would like to address, like our roof and a sunken floor area. We would also like to purchase seating, program equipment and supplies, outdoor seating, program event hosts, and so much more..
Horton Public Library serves not only Horton but an area of approx. 4,200 people in rural south Brown County. Our Mission is Community, Learning & Fun! Our building was completed Dec 30th 1938 after being built on the existing foundation of a bank that had burned down. The open house was held on Jan 11th 1939. Before that the Library began & was housed in the upstairs auditorium of City Hall on Jan 12th 1926. We would greatly appreciate your assistance in helping us reach our goal so that we can continue to Encourage, Enlighten, and Entertain all who seek to open doors in their minds & hearts.
