Horse Medicine For All Scholarship Fund

Hi my name is Poppy Wilson and I am the owner and lead facilitator at Horse Medicine Equine Assisted Wellness . I am a local service offering Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) in the Saskatoon area. EAL is a fast growing type of experiential learning that offers personal growth, self confidence, life skills and success over obstacles using horses as our barometers . It has been researched and proven to have huge value in areas such as depression, anxiety, addiction and ptsd as well as supporting team building , leadership and healthy relationship skills. My personal background with addiction and recovery has directed my passion for EAL and pointed my focus toward helping those struggling with addiction currently as well as supporting children in building the skills they need to become confident, positive, skilled and compassionate communicators so they might navigate through life in a healthier way and avoid some of the challenges many of us are faced with. My goal is to raise enough funds to provide scholarships to 8 people for a full 12 week curriculum with each week building on the previous weeks objective. I would like to be able to just give these spots away but the reality is , there are substantial costs involved with keeping the horses needed for this program and I need to be able to cover those costs . Vet bills, farrier, feed, land lease , travel expenses and supplies all add up to be able to provide this service. I have limited spots left as paid client spots are filling up and I would really love to be able to save some of these spots for specifically 4 youth who's parents would otherwise not be able to afford this and cannot secure funding from any other avenue. As well as 4 people who are in their first 5 years of addiction recovery as I know how incredibly hard this is to accomplish and how incredible horses are at helping us through it ! A full 12 weeks of programming costs 720$ so every time we hit that amount we are sending another person to horse school ! If you prefer you can message me directly for donation as well.
