Horse Haven Farms: Supporting Horses & Community
Donation protected
Hey Everyone!
I know a lot of you have been following my journey in creating this little slice of Horse Haven here in the Sacred Valley of Peru.
If you’re new, please feel free to follow me on FB under Leah Dietzen or Instagram @leah_dietzen to learn more.
I am very intentionally creating a space where the land and two horses I steward are heard, honored and respected.
A space where we give back and honor the medicine of the earth and the horses.
This is a space I am keeping open to my local Peruvian & Ex Pat community, as I honor and recognize the work we are all doing collectively and the need for the safe space horses provide.
I am creating this space to work with the special kids that are here on the planet right now, as well as the adults around me that are doing the big soul work. Already these horses have been called in to share some medicine in big ways. Including going to be with my friend on her hospice bed.
It feels challenging to put it all into words the magic that is weaving here, but those who know, KNOW.
We see and feel each other.
As I acknowledge the work you are doing, I’ve created this platform to give space to support and acknowledge the medicine these horses have offered and to give back to them.
Moving forward I will be creating a Patreon page where I will be sharing content and content from my friends to help support this.
But I am recognizing that I have an immediate need, so this is our first step on the journey!
So, practical tangibles.
By keeping these horses and this land fed and cared for, I will then be able to be there for the humans who are needing the Medicine of the Horses.
I currently have a team of two horses that I got from a friend who runs a backcountry horse center.
Abby has just gotten old (22) and needed a retirement home.
Whiskey got sick (we think ulcers) at some point and just needed a home where he could get some extra love and attention.
I currently have Whiskey on medication to help him put weight back on.
As well as holistic supplements.
The goal would be to also get some full panel blood work done on Whiskey to rule out anything else going on.
I would ideally like to get some additional supplements for Abby to support him in the older years of his life as well.
The cost of feed, medication and renting the land (currently $1,000 a month) is accounted for in this amount as well as other basic horse care.
Caring for the horses is what creates the space for me to be present for the humans.
Know that a little goes a long way here in Peru.
So whatever you can share will be deeply honored and appreciated by me, the community, the horses and this land I have been asked to steward.
I honor the responsibility I have been asked to undertake by stepping into this journey and hold it in the highest integrity.
Please help us to weave this medicine and share with anyone who you feel may be called to support.
From the heart of Pachamama, the Sacred Apus (mountains), and The Medicine of the Horse we thank you big big.
