Help Us Rebuild Hopyard’s Bridge – A Vital Link in Our Community
Many of you will know Hopyard’s Bridge – the footbridge that safely connects Anderton and Marbury and offers a peaceful route that avoids the busier paths through Marbury Hollows.
Sadly, the bridge has now been condemned and must be replaced.
The good news? Cheshire West & Chester Council has agreed to adopt and maintain a new bridge – once we can raise the funds to build it. The not-so-good news is that the cost of replacement is around £45,000.
That’s a big number for a small community – but we believe that together, we can make it happen.
Anderton with Marbury Parish Council, Marbury Swimming Pool, and Friends of Anderton with Marbury are all working together to raise funds, but we still face a significant shortfall.
We’re asking for your help.
Whether it’s a small donation, a fundraising idea, or simply spreading the word – every little bit makes a big difference.
This bridge is more than just a crossing – it’s a safe, beautiful, and much-loved part of our community walks. Let’s come together to bring it back.
Thank you for supporting this project – from all of us who care about keeping Anderton and Marbury safely connected.
