- On the 20th October our lovely fitness crew will pulling on our runners to undertake our runs or walks to raise money for a cause close to my heart, The Avalon Centre.
- THE AVALON CENTRE is a charity is totally funded by grants and donations from the general public. They aim to help those who have fallen through the cracks and been left behind such as the homeless, assylum seekers and those with mental and physical disabilities. This wonderful charity is run totally by dedicated volunteers and EVERY CENT donated goes straight to the amazing causes they service.
- The wonderful work that this charity does includes The Clothes & Bedding Distribution programme. Avalon's Moving Wardrobe provides clothing, bedding, toiletries and shoes to people who are living on the streets who are disadvantaged, living in low economic conditions or who are Asylum Seekers.
- In addition to this there is also a drop in centre where homeless people can go for a cuppa, a chat and even a haircut.
- Avalon Homes for the Homeless is a new initiative that provides affordable accommodation with ongoing tailored support for the most vulnerable members of our community. The Avalon Centre’s goal is to provide stability, security, and support with the provision of a home for an unlimited period.
