Our mom, Christine — lovingly called Tina — has always been the heart of our family and community. As a teacher, she cared for her students like they were her own, even cooking meals for them and encouraging a love of learning. At home, she’s the mom everyone could count on.

This summer, everything changed. After losing her dad in June, Tina went into the hospital in August for what we thought was a UTI, but it turned out to be liver cirrhosis. Her health declined quickly — her kidneys are failing, her lungs are full of fluid, and she’s been unconscious on dialysis since August 3rd. She may face long-term care and possibly a liver transplant.

We’re raising funds to help cover her medical bills, support our younger sister Sarah through her senior year of high school, and keep up with household needs. We’re also preparing for whatever comes next — whether that’s continuing treatment and recovery, or, if the worst happens, funeral costs.
