Hope for Mady: Fighting a Rare Aggressive Metastatic Sarcoma

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share Mady's journey with you. Mady, my Granddaughter has been bravely battling a desmoid tumor, a rare and challenging condition that has impacted her life in profound ways.

A desmoid tumor is a rare type of tumor that grows in connective tissue and can cause pain, interfere with organ function, and significantly affect daily life. Mady has faced this diagnosis since July 2021, with no answers, medication and treatment plans that have not worked, with incredible courage and determination, but the road ahead is not easy.

The treatment for desmoid tumors often involves surgery, radiation, and medication, all of which come with their own challenges and costs. As Mady navigates through these treatments, the financial burden is immense. Medical bills, travel expenses, accommodation for specialized care, and ongoing therapies quickly add up, placing a heavy strain on her and her family. Recently, Mady's medical team suggested seeking a second opinion to explore all treatment options thoroughly. This recommendation highlights the complexity of her condition and the critical importance of ensuring she receives the most comprehensive and effective care possible. We will be travelling to Standford University, MD Anderson in Conroe Texas and University of Michigan, seeking new treatment for Mady.
