Hope for Jake: A Family’s Call for Help
Donation protected

- Hello, my name is Kristamy, I am the mother of Jake. I’m reaching out for support as my son, Jake, faces a critical chapter in his mental health journey—one that has deeply impacted him and our family.
Jake’s Story
Jake has struggled with his mental health from a very young age. As a boy, it was clear that he was a deeply sensitive and caring soul, someone who felt the world around him so profoundly. Over the years, he has endured immense pain related to his mental health—battling feelings of isolation, navigating the stigma that so often surrounds these challenges, and experiencing multiple hospitalizations.
Despite the challenges, Jake has always been a kind, resilient, and creative person. His journey, however, has included long periods of homelessness, times when he stopped receiving treatment, and moments of despair that felt insurmountable.
This past week, Jake reached out to me in deep pain, feeling as though there was no hope left. Through our conversation, and with great courage, he chose to go to the hospital and accept the care he so desperately needs. He is now in an inpatient psychiatric hospital in California, where he is beginning the long road toward healing.
I know Jake as a loving, bright, and radiant light who has suffered greatly while trying to navigate what often feels beyond his control. His sensitivity and kindness have always shone through, even in his hardest moments. Now, as he takes these first steps toward healing, I am seeking support to help him and the team caring for him.
I am beyond grateful that Jake is safe and receiving care, this crisis has taken a tremendous toll on him and I am incredibly grateful for any and all support
How Your Support Will Help
The funds raised through this GoFundMe will be used to:
• Support travel costs to bring Jake back to Florida once he is stable and ready for the next phase of his healing journey.
• Assist with the transition of care for Jake, including coordinating with new providers and ensuring he has continued access to therapy, medications, and other critical mental health resources.
• Help with Jake’s basic needs during this period of transition, such as housing, food, and other essentials, while we work to find long-term resources and support for his recovery.
• Create a small emergency fund to help with any unexpected costs related to Jake’s care.
Your Support Means the World
I’m setting a goal of $13,000 to cover these costs and the ability to help provide stability and hope. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for considering supporting Jake. Your kindness and generosity mean more than I can express.
With gratitude,
Kristamy and Family
