Over one in three low-income women and girls reported missing work, school, or similar events due to lack of access to period supplies.

We are a group of eighth graders from Gulliver named Pazzie B, Julia Z, and Siena L. The Period Poverty Project is a project aimed at supplying local women’s shelter the Lotus House and the Miami Rescue Mission with a donation of feminine care products.

Our group is the first group in Gulliver that is aimed towards helping women gain proper access to menstrual products. The way that we will achieve this is that we will give a one month supply of pads and a privacy pouch per girl.

For every 6 dollars donated, a girl will have enough pads to supply herself for a month and a pouch to put them in. We are trying to reach 300 girls.
