My name is Heba; I am 31 years old, and this is my never-ending story.
It began on December 15, 2023, when I left my home and fled to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, searching for safety under the artillery shells – but in vain.
Unfortunately, labor pains started there, between the sorrowful corridors of the hospital, filled with martyrs, the wounded, and the smell of blood overwhelming the place. I gave birth to my baby girl at that moment. Her fate was only to see her father for two days.
I did not know then that the hardest days were yet to come. On December 19, my beloved husband passed away, leaving me lost in the journey of life without the most basic means to survive.
I lost my husband, my safe place, my partner, the love of my life. His death left me broken, unbalanced, sad, and homeless, with my three daughters: Salma (7 years old), Sally (4 years old), and my baby Waed (a year and a half).
Moving more than ten times alone with three children in search of safety was unbearably hard, especially without even having the simplest necessities. It turned me into a helpless, powerless, and paralyzed mother.
A year later, I also lost my elder brothers – the ones who became my protection and support after my husband’s death. They gave me everything they could to help me adapt to life without my husband, but fate had another plan. Now no one is left, and I have become adrift in the waves of life, heading toward an unknown destiny in a journey I do not know how it will end, together with my children.
I am reaching out with deep hope in your compassion and humanity, asking for your support to provide a safe and dignified life for my children and myself. I dream of rebuilding a promising future for them, even if it must be outside my homeland.
Update for donors:
I would like to clarify my relationship to the intended recipient. Heba is my cousin’s wife and she is currently located in Gaza.
The funds raised through this campaign will be transferred in my name. I will personally send the money to her through Western Union to ensure she receives the funds directly.
These funds will help support her evacuation plan and cover essential living and emergency expenses.
Thank you all for your continued support and kindness.
