Help Haven Fight: Urgent Brain and Spine Surgeries Needed

Meet Haven—a beautiful, strong, and faith-filled young girl who is about to begin her first year of high school. Despite being born with a serious heart condition that required open-heart surgery as a baby, Haven has lived a joyful and full life. But now, her family is facing an unexpected and overwhelming new medical crisis—one that requires immediate attention.

During an appointment with a neurosurgeon in Fort Worth, Haven and her family received heartbreaking news. Multiple complex and dangerous conditions have been found in her brain and spine, and she will need at least four major surgeries before Christmas. The conditions are severe:

   •   One surgery must go through her mouth

   •   One will go through the back of her skull

   •   Another through the back of her neck

   •   And one into the spine area

These procedures are not only highly specialized—they are extremely risky. They carry the potential for paralysis, breathing difficulties, voice loss, and many other complications. The neurosurgeon is currently consulting with another specialist to determine if the surgeries can even be performed in-state—or if Haven must be transferred to a hospital in another part of the country.

Through it all, Haven and her family are holding on to their faith in God. In June, Haven received the Holy Ghost at a youth event in Sapulpa. That moment, and her walk with God, have brought her peace and comfort through the storm. Her family is asking for one thing above all else: prayers for God’s will to be done.

In addition to your prayers, we are asking for financial support to help Haven and her family cover the overwhelming costs associated with:

   •   Specialized surgeries and post-op care

   •   Possible out-of-state travel and hospital stays

   •   Lodging, meals, and lost wages during treatment

   •   Ongoing rehabilitation and recovery
