Hello, my name is Teanna Russell and I am the daughter in law to Earl Russell.

On June 15th, 2025, Earl went into emergency at the Royal University Hospital. He was then rushed into surgery as they discovered flesh eating disease and it needed to be removed as soon as possible. They were able to clear majority

of the infection and he was put in observation. On June 17th, they did another surgery to clean the wound up and remove the rest of the infection. On June 19th, he had another surgery to make sure the flesh eating disease was gone, and

put in a colostomy bag and unfortunately discovered a mass around his rectum. He was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer. Earl spent the next 2 months resting and waiting for his skin graft surgery which happened in August.

After the skin grafts, he spent some time recovering before they removed the mass and added in a urostomy bag. After the surgery in October, he spent his time recovering and working in physio. He made so much progress he was able to

get transferred to Parkridge Centre for continued care and physio. Unfortunately, after a day at Parkridge he developed a kidney infection and had to go back to the RUH. He spent some time in the hallway before being transferred to

a room. From November on, he had his ups and downs and some illnesses passed through the hospital which delayed his physio due to him not having enough energy from the sicknesses. He only recently has made more progress in physio and

we are hoping he can work his way to Parkridge again, if not, long term care with physio. A lot of encouragement and hope going forward.

Earl worked as an industrial electrician for 30+ years for PTW Energy Services, supporting his family and dogs, and was always extremely dedicated and hardworking. He has many projects constantly on the go. He has always

had a passion and talent for music. Earl has been working on building a studio in the basement for the last 10 years. Earl was the main source of income for the household and it has become difficult to make ends meet. Especially while raising a teenager. We are in need of help to support his family and potentially pay for further treatment, physio

and house modifications.
