Hi my name is Lee and I am helping my friend, Cody fight her cancer battle.

In November 2024, Cody’s world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer (triple negative). Because of how fast-moving this cancer is, she had to begin treatment immediately.

Since then, Cody has undergone 16 rounds of radiation and ongoing immunotherapy every three weeks. Despite her urgent medical needs, her insurance company denied her claim, calling her cancer “pre-existing.” This left her facing treatment and surgery costs of approximately $13,000 out-of-pocket—costs as well as other costs for her treatment so she could not delay or avoid given the aggressive nature of her illness.

Cody has had to stop working to focus on her health, which means her family is now surviving on just one income while caring for three children. On top of this, she has been told she is ineligible for Centrelink payments, leaving her and her family in an incredibly tough position.
