Hi, my name is Katy and I am setting this up on behalf of our close knit friendship group…. We are all absolutely heartbroken that our friends are having to face every parent’s worst nightmare, together we want to help them raise funds for themselves to help them through this awful time as well as a charity called cross basket and Glasgow children’s hospital.

Since coming back from Mexico on a holiday of a lifetime there little Barnaby has fallen desperately ill. He is now in Glasgow Children’s Hospital, where doctors have told them he has E. coli that has turned into HUS, causing his kidneys to fail.

Laura and Jack are having to live in Glasgow in hospital accommodation so they can be next to there little boys side every step of the way, even more heartbreaking that there little girl Joss is not been able to see her mam and dad and is staying with grandparents, she is missing her little brother so much!

This is going to be a long process meaning they can’t work so as a friendship group we would like to raise some money so that they don’t need to have financial stresses on them as well as all of the stress of there little boy who we are desperately hoping gets better soon.

A charity called the cross basket has given them everything, clothes, toiletries and accommodation all for free and Glasgow children’s hospital have been amazing so with doing this go fund me the money will be split between these 2 charities as well as any help that Jack and Laura need so we can take that extra stress off them.

A message from our super mammy Laura:

Our brave little boy is fighting for his life after contracting E. coli, which has caused Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). Since being rushed to hospital, he has already endured four blood transfusions, countless tests, and intensive treatment to support his body. Right now, we are anxiously awaiting results to see if his kidneys can recover without dialysis.

His condition remains very serious, but we are holding tightly to hope as we start to see small signs that he may be turning a corner. Through it all, he has shown more strength than we ever imagined, and we are in awe of his courage.

As parents, this has been the most frightening and heartbreaking time of our lives. We want nothing more than to focus on our boy’s recovery, but the emotional, physical, and financial strain has been overwhelming. We are asking for support to help us through this incredibly difficult journey, so we can give our son every chance to heal.

There is currently no cure for HUS. In the fight to save Barnaby, we have begun a clinical trial developed in Argentina, making him the very first UK patient to receive this new treatment. We are holding tightly to hope that this will not only help our boy recover, but also lead to breakthroughs that could change the future for other children and families facing this terrifying illness.
