Amid the harrowing war conditions in Gaza, the Al-Dadah family's journey of survival takes them from one place to another, seeking refuge from the relentless conflict. Initially, they fled from Al-Zahra to Deir al-Balah, where they stayed for three days. They then returned to Al-Zahra for a week, before being forcibly evacuated and spending a day on the streets. Their search for safety led them to Rafah, where they lived for three and a half months. Now, due to the threat of a military operation in Rafah—once deemed safe—they are compelled to move again, this time back to Deir al-Balah. This constant displacement highlights the harsh reality that nowhere in Gaza is truly safe.
My mother and brother, Abdel Fatah, along with his wife (Dina) and their five children (Zeina, Yazan, Yara, Rana, Layan), have faced these challenges head-on, moving from one temporary shelter to another in a desperate bid for safety. With educational institutions destroyed and the infrastructure for a dignified life obliterated, the family is now seeking to leave the Gaza Strip for Egypt, in search of security and an opportunity for the children to access education and live with dignity. The financial burden of exiting Gaza is immense, requiring between $5,000 and $9,000 per adult and $3,500 to $4,000 for each child.
This campaign aims to raise funds to support the Al-Dadah family in their quest for a safer and more stable future. Your contribution, no matter the size, can make a significant difference in their lives, helping them to secure the necessities for relocation and start anew. Let’s come together to offer the Al-Dadah family a beacon of hope in these trying times.
By sharing their story, we not only seek the needed funds but also aim to shed light on the dire circumstances faced by many families in Gaza, who endure the uncertainty and peril of war every day. Join us in providing a lifeline to the Al-Dadah family and others in their plight for safety, education, and a dignified life.
