Hi everyone, my name is Ashley Magana, and I’d like to share a story about a family that’s been on my heart lately.

There is a single mother who is raising several children completely on her own. She spends long days and long nights doing everything she can to keep her family afloat. But even with all her effort, some days are still incredibly difficult. There are moments when the kids don’t have enough to eat, and moments when she quietly skips meals so they don’t have to. She never complains, never asks for help, and rarely lets anyone see how heavy her load truly is. She simply keeps putting her children first, no matter the cost.

Her oldest child, who is 20 and living in another state for school, is doing everything he can to support them from afar. He pays his own bills, covers his school tuition, and supports himself completely while also trying to be there for his mother in every way possible. He carries so much on his shoulders, yet still tries to lighten hers, even though the weight is overwhelming for him too. No family should have to struggle this much on their own. With everything this family is juggling, it’s uncertain whether the younger kids will even receive Christmas gifts this year. The holidays, which should feel joyful and hopeful, may instead become another reminder of how much they’re struggling. I know this family would never ask for anything, which is why I feel called to stand in the gap for them. I can’t do this alone, and that’s why I’m reaching out for help on their behalf. I don’t want things to reach a point where this mother no longer has a stable place to live with her children. No one should have to carry that fear alone.

That’s why I decided to start this fundraiser—to help lift even a bit of the burden from this mother’s shoulders. The goal is to support this family with groceries, bills, and basic necessities while they navigate this tough season. I want to surprise and bless her with love, kindness, and a moment to finally breathe again.
