In the shadows of Dhaka’s modern neighborhoods— such as the Bashundhara Residential Area— families struggle to survive in nearby informal settlements. Dhaka is one of the fastest-growing cities in the world, and an estimated 4 million people live in slums across the city, often in overcrowded one-room homes with shared toilets, unsafe water, and little access to healthcare. Despite living beside some of Dhaka’s most developed areas, these communities are frequently overlooked.
We are organizing a one-day community health and relief initiative to bring essential medical care, hygiene support, and warmth directly to families who urgently need it.
Deworming & Maternal Health
Children and pregnant women in slum communities face a high risk of intestinal worm infections, which cause chronic stomach pain, malnutrition, anemia, and poor nutrient absorption. During pregnancy, untreated infections can lead to serious complications, including miscarriage.
We will provide:
Pinworm and hookworm medications
Clear instructions in Bangla on safe use and prevention
Menstrual Health & Women’s Dignity
For many women and girls, sanitary pads are a luxury. Using unsafe alternatives increases the risk of infection and strips women of dignity.
We will:
Distribute sanitary pads
Provide basic menstrual hygiene education
Offer a safe, respectful space for women to ask questions
Warmth & Basic Comfort
Families living in makeshift housing often endure cold, damp conditions with little protection. Children, pregnant women, and the elderly are especially vulnerable.
We will:
Distribute blankets
Prioritize households with young children, pregnant women, and the elderly
Why Your Support Matters
Your donation will go directly toward essential medicines, sanitary supplies, blankets, and community outreach—helping prevent avoidable illness and protect the most vulnerable in just one critical day of action.
Together, we can bring care, warmth, and hope to families living just beyond the walls of Dhaka’s most developed areas—because even one day can change lives.
