For 13 years, Lewis McCray has endured the hardships of homelessness, calling the streets of Plantation, Florida, his home. Despite his struggles with mental health and the daily challenges of life on the streets, Lewis has remained a source of light and kindness to everyone around him. His humility, optimism, and warm spirit have made him a beloved figure in the local community, where he’s known for his gentle nature and unwavering hope.

Now, Lewis is facing an even greater challenge: a battle with stage 4 prostate cancer. While undergoing treatment, he’s also working tirelessly to rebuild his life. However, he urgently needs support to continue to secure a temporary shelter, cover daily living expenses, and access vital resources as he takes steps toward a more stable future.

Lewis has currently received a great holiday gift from a local family by generously donating two weeks stay at the extended stay in plantation. His current reservation is up on Jan 2nd so lets please do our best to help him extend his stay while he is thankfully in the process of being approved for an assisted living facility so he doesn’t have to go back to living on the streets.
