Hello everyone,
We are reaching out to you with hopeful hearts and a request for support as we embark on our second IVF treatment journey. Our story has been filled with ups and downs, but we remain determined to grow our family and need your help to make it happen.
Our Journey So Far
After two years of trying to conceive naturally, we turned to Brown Fertility in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Brown and his team were optimistic and supportive, giving us hope despite my diagnosis of adenomyosis and a seven-inch tumor. Initially thought to be a fibroid, the tumor did not deter us from proceeding with IVF, as my young age and good ovarian reserve promised a good outcome.
During our first IVF cycle, we retrieved five eggs, and from those, four embryos initially developed. On transfer day, only one strong embryo remained. Despite our fears, this "lucky little egg" became our Baby Jalapeno, who grew strong and healthy.
The Miracle of Genevieve
Our journey was not without complications. As my pregnancy progressed, it became clear that the tumor was growing rapidly, blocking a traditional birth and necessitating a C-section. Baby Genevieve arrived four weeks early, weighing 4 pounds and filling our hearts with pure love. She is perfect in every way and worth every challenge we faced.
The Roadblocks
During the C-section, the tumor was measured at 19 inches, and my adenomyosis was diagnosed. My doctor recommended letting my body heal post-pregnancy before tackling the tumor, but this left me in debilitating pain. I was prescribed MyFembree, which induced pre-menopause to shrink the tumor and manage adenomyosis. Unfortunately, after nine months, the tumor only reduced by one inch, and the adenomyosis spread further.
We were left with the heartbreaking news that natural conception was not possible. IVF became our only option, but time is running out. MyFembree went on backorder in May, leaving us with a limited window to start another IVF cycle before the pain returns and the medication's effects wear off.
Why We Need Your Help
Our insurance only covers one egg retrieval and subsequent frozen embryo transfers. With no frozen embryos left, we need to start the IVF process all over again, which costs around $20,000. This expense does not include additional OB visits or potential complications.
We have one more chance to grow our family and are racing against time. We are strong and ambitious, but we cannot do this alone. We deeply appreciate the love and support we have always received from our family and friends, and we humbly ask for your help now.
How You Can Help
Your donation will go directly towards the costs of our second IVF treatment. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to welcoming another beautiful baby into our family. We understand that times are tough, and even if you cannot donate, sharing our story with others can make a huge difference.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support, love, and generosity. We believe in the power of community and hope that, with your help, we can overcome this challenge and expand our family.
With gratitude and hope,
los Prunedas
