Hope and Dreams, Peace and Love for the Fong Family

When cancer strikes a family, the effects can be felt for years. Frank was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer in late June and entered hospice one month later after two unsuccessful rounds of chemotherapy. He is the father of two teenagers, beloved husband, native of Hong Kong bringing the arts and culture of his home to Omaha in the late 60s. He has taught Tai Chi to the Omaha community for over 40 years. He has been involved with the fine arts community just as long.

As a professional musician, Frank was bass and vocals for the award winning band, Rhythm Collective, for 35 years. He also formed The New Humans, a jazz group, that covered some pretty chill bossa nova grooves. The Omaha entertainment community will deeply miss his authentic vibe. The song, Hope and Dreams, Peace and Love was written for his family in 2017 and recorded August 2025 during his cancer fight. His kids and wife all perform with him on the recording.
