Honouring JJ: Support the Roos Family

Jessy and Joel Roos are two of the best human beings I've ever had the privilege of calling my friends, and I know that sentiment is shared by so many others.

On December 23, the Rooses unexpectedly and tragically lost their 10-month old baby, Jesse (JJ) Marvin Roos, born February 9, 2024.

Last year at this time, they excitedly anticipated the arrival of the newest member of their family, and now, as they prepare to start 2025 without their sweet boy, we want to come together as a community to support them.

The money raised here will directly support the Roos family and lift financial burdens as they navigate their loss. This will include covering the costs of funeral and burial expenses, respite care, mental health support for the family, time off work or reduced workload, meal delivery services, house cleaning, and any other resources Jessy and Joel identify the need for as they maneuver day-to-day realities while grieving together with their other children Hannah, James, Charlie and Judah.

Funds will also be used to provide support for Jessy and Joel’s close friend Kristy, who lives with the Roos family and played an instrumental role in caring for JJ since the day he was born.

Joel and Jessy are a pillar of mental health support in our community, tirelessly working through their business Cultivate to provide meaningful care for those who may not otherwise be able to access it. This is our opportunity to show them the same love and care they selflessly pour into others at a time when they need it the most.
