Want to honour Phyllis Prendergast and make a difference in the city?
The 3rd anniversary of the passing of my friend Phyllis Prendergast is approaching. She was the most generous, caring woman I have known. She loved Fredericton and worked tirelessly to support the causes close to her heart: Meals on Wheels, River Jam Fredericton, Dooryard Arts Festival, Shivering Songs, Larlee Creek Hullabaloo, Medicare Alumni, but her main love was the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival for which she was a driving force for 27 years.
- Name a Seat is the fundraising drive happening now in support of the new Performing Arts Center (Playhouse) which allows for a loved one’s name to be engraved on a seat in the new venue to honour their legacy of helping build a vibrant community. And Phyllis definitely built a loving, vibrant community! Nothing would make her more proud, or be more fitting than an engraved seat for herself and one beside for her guest - we know she always took a friend with her to spread the joy! Let's keep Phyllis's memory alive for many years to come with her own seats for every performance for many years to come!
