Dear all,

It is with heavy hearts that friends and colleagues are reaching out following the extremely sudden and tragic loss of Jonas Stoebe, aged 55, who leaves behind his loving partner Belinda and their two young sons Lio (age 12) and Luca (age 9).

Jonas, Head of Sport & PE, at Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner School, was leading a snow tour with Year 9 and Year 11 students. He experienced a crash on the mountain at Perisher and sustained a catastrophic brain injury on Wednesday 6 September. He passed away on Wednesday 13 September 2023.

As we come to terms with the accident and gather to mourn this profound loss, we recognise that in addition to the emotional toll, there are practical challenges that lie ahead for Jonas’ young family.

This is where our community can make a difference.

With approval from Jonas’ family, colleagues and friends have started this GoFundMe campaign to rally support for Belinda and her two little boys.

Our goal is to provide them with a financial safety net that will alleviate the immediate strain of funeral arrangement costs, household expenses, mortgage repayments, raising two boys on her own and give them some kind of relief to make their way through this difficult time.

By contributing to this campaign, you will not only help Belinda with immediate costs but also to let Jonas’ family know how much he was loved and adored in our community, and as a way of giving back to a family who gifted so much of his life to the care, wellbeing and health of those he taught, worked with and played with.
