Update: My beautiful mom passed away December 3rd, peacefully and surrounded by love. Our hearts are shattered, but we’re grateful she is no longer suffering and is finally at peace. Thank you to everyone who has supported our family through this incredibly difficult time—your kindness has carried us more than you know. Any continued support will now go toward final arrangements and helping us navigate the next steps as we honor her memory.

Mi hermosa mamá partió el 3 de diciembre, en paz y rodeada de amor. Nuestros corazones están destrozados, pero estamos agradecidos de que ya no esté sufriendo y finalmente descanse en paz. Gracias a todos quienes han apoyado a nuestra familia durante este tiempo tan increíblemente difícil; su amabilidad nos ha sostenido más de lo que pueden imaginar. In July 2023, our family’s world changed forever. My mom was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive and often terminal form of brain cancer. The doctors told us we had two choices: pursue treatment and hope for about a year, or forgo treatment and face a much shorter time together.

If you know my mom, you know there was no question, she chose to fight.

Over the past two years, she’s endured two brain surgeries, two rounds of aggressive radiation, one round of chemotherapy, and a course of medication to slow the tumor’s growth. She fought every step with courage, grace, and that determined spirit we love so much.

Sadly, we’ve now been told the tumor is no longer responding to any treatment and is growing again. The only options left would cause her more harm than good. With heavy hearts, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to begin hospice care so she can spend her remaining time in peace, surrounded by love.

We are raising funds to help with end-of-life expenses and to ensure we can honor her wishes when the time comes.

En julio de 2023, el mundo de nuestra familia cambió para siempre. A mi mamá le diagnosticaron Glioblastoma Multiforme, una forma agresiva y, a menudo, terminal de cáncer cerebral. Los doctores nos dijeron que teníamos dos opciones: iniciar tratamiento con la esperanza de tener aproximadamente un año más, o no tratarlo y enfrentar un tiempo juntos mucho más corto.

Si conoces a mi mamá, sabes que no hubo duda: ella decidió luchar.

Durante los últimos dos años, ha soportado dos cirugías cerebrales, dos rondas de radiación agresiva, una ronda de quimioterapia y un tratamiento para frenar el crecimiento del tumor. Peleó cada paso con valentía, gracia y ese espíritu decidido que tanto amamos.

Lamentablemente, ahora nos han dicho que el tumor ya no responde a ningún tratamiento y está creciendo nuevamente. Las únicas opciones restantes le causarían más daño que beneficio. Con el corazón pesado, hemos tomado la increíblemente difícil decisión de iniciar cuidados paliativos para que pueda pasar el tiempo que le queda en paz, rodeada de amor.

Estamos recaudando fondos para ayudar con los gastos de fin de vida y para asegurarnos de poder cumplir sus deseos cuando llegue el momento.
