Honoring the Memory of Skylar Marie Batchelor

In the early hours of Sunday, June 16, Father’s Day, Skylar Marie Batchelor complained that she was in pain and was taken to the emergency room at CHOC Hospital. While the doctors and medical staff tried to treat her, around 8 am she passed away suddenly from her injuries. 

Days prior, on Thursday, June 13, Skylar had been in a serious multi vehicle car accident while riding in the car with friends. Despite suffering injuries more severe than she knew, she didn’t share with her family that she was in a car accident until Sunday morning when it was unfortunately too late. 

Skylar was 16 and an half, and only a month away from starting a new chapter and transferring from Wilson High School to Sunburst Youth Academy on July 14. A transition she was excited about and greatly looking forward to. During her short time on earth Skylar lived big and brightly, and she left a lasting impression on every person she encountered. While she was tragically taken from her family and friends far too early, Skylar will be forever remembered for her bubbly energy, remarkable ability to make people burst into laughter, deep and unconditional love of being a big sister to her younger siblings, and for her kind, beautiful heart and spirit.

In times of a tragic and devastating loss, we understand that those left behind often wish there was something they could do to help. To help alleviate and comfort Tom, Meagan, Chloe, and Jack. In lieu of flowers, we started this GoFundMe to allow the community that loved Skylar the opportunity to contribute with future costs the family will incur due to this loss.
