In lovely memories of our beloved Sandra Tillman

As many of you may have already heard, we’ve suffered a heartbreaking loss in our community. Our beloved colleague and friend, Sergeant Tillman, has passed away.

SGT Tillman—affectionately known as Tilly—joined the Department of Campus Safety 10 years ago as an officer and, through dedication and compassion, rose to the rank of sergeant. She was a beautiful soul who consistently went above and beyond to support and protect those around her. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering commitment to service left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

This is not only a tragic loss for our department but for her family, friends, and the entire NYU community.

In honor of SGT Tillman’s memory, I would like to start a collection to support her family during this incredibly difficult time. Contributions of any kind are deeply appreciated and will go directly to her loved ones.

Let’s come together as a community to celebrate the life of someone who gave so much to all of us.
