A loving husband, devoted father, and a friend to many, Rishi Sen spent his life supporting others. Today, we come together to support the family he loved most.
We are raising funds to support Madhu Parmar and her son after the sudden and heartbreaking passing of Rishi Sen.
Rishi Sen was a kind and compassionate person who spent much of his life supporting others emotionally and spiritually. Together with his family, he dedicated many years to SGI, praying for the happiness and well being of others and building a community centered on encouragement and compassion. Toronto was home for many years before the family recently moved to California to be closer to their son, who had begun pursuing his dream of studying engineering in Texas.
Rishi was excited about beginning a new chapter of life closer to his son. Friends say he seemed happier than they had seen him in a long time. His son had just completed his first year as an engineering undergraduate and was preparing to visit home.
During one of their recent conversations, Rishi had asked his son to bring back something simple, his favorite black pen. It was one of those small father son moments that seemed ordinary at the time but carried quiet love and familiarity.
Sadly, that moment never came.
While Madhu was visiting her parents in India, Rishi suddenly felt pain in his ear and asked a neighbor to take him to the hospital. Even while waiting in a wheelchair, friends recall that he was laughing and in good spirits. Within moments something unexpected happened and he collapsed. He never woke up again.
Rishi leaves behind his loving wife Madhu and a remarkable son who is only beginning his journey as an engineering student. Madhu had recently stepped away from work due to the family’s move to the United States and now faces the difficult challenge of rebuilding stability while supporting her son through his studies.
This fundraiser will help ease the immediate financial pressures the family now faces, including funeral and memorial expenses, education costs for their son, and basic living expenses as Madhu works toward rebuilding life after this unimaginable loss.
This is not a call born from desperation, but from community.
For years, Rishi and his family prayed for the happiness and well being of others. They offered encouragement, friendship, and support to countless people without ever expecting anything in return.
Now we have an opportunity to stand beside them in their moment of need.
