Dear friends, family, colleagues, and anyone who was touched by Nicholas’s life,

It is with heavy hearts that we set up this GoFundMe to support the deeply loved Barrick family in their time of pain with the devastating passing of Nicky. He had been thriving and excitedly returning to school. But fate had other plans, and their sweet beloved Nicky’s earthly journey came to an untimely end. At 4:56 am on June 18, 2024, sweet Nicky left this world.

His vision was limited due to neurological challenges, but his eyes held immense beauty and were healthy. The Barrick’s made the difficult decision to donate his corneas, granting sight to two fortunate recipients. It’s amazing that he was able to give this gift to two others, and part of him lives on here on earth.

Eighteen years old, yet forever their baby, Nicky’s absence leaves an unbearable void. Their home quieter, his room empty. They are taking solace in knowing he’s in heaven, free from earthly limitations and imagining all the wonderful things he is experiencing for the first time.

To honor Nicholas’s memory, they are planning a celebration of life. But we need your help. The financial strain weighs heavily. Medical bills, funeral expenses, and the cost of honoring Nicky’s wishes—all of it adds up. Let’s come together and help our sweet friends with some of this unexpected financial burden.
