My dad, Michael Leonard, was one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. Over the past few years, he has gone through more than anyone should have to, losing his leg, learning to live with a prosthetic, going through dialysis, and waiting for a kidney transplant. Even through all of that, he never stopped fighting and always held onto hope.

Last week, we lost him. It still doesn’t fully feel real, and it’s been incredibly hard on all of us.

Throughout everything, his wife Julia was by his side every single day. She took care of him full-time, advocated for him, and made sure he was never alone, even in his hardest moments. Because of that, she hasn’t been able to work, and now she’s facing not only the loss of her husband, but also the financial strain that’s come with his medical care and day-to-day living expenses.

I’m starting this fundraiser to support Julia as she navigates this next chapter without him. The funds will go toward medical bills and helping her stay on her feet during this incredibly difficult time.
