Dear Friends and Community,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of our beloved mother and family matriarch, Margaret Cyrus-Bando, who entered eternal rest on March 11, 2025. More than just a mother, she was our family's nurse, teacher, counselor, and the glue that held us together.

Margaret extended herself to everyone, opening her heart and home to all. Her warm, guiding words and delicious food were enjoyed by many, and she always made sure there was enough for everyone.

Her dream was to recover and visit her family in her beloved homeland of Trinidad and establish a safe space for displaced youth. She often said, "I'm going to get better and take myself back home." Sadly, God had other plans, and on March 11, 2025, she passed. Though we may not have known the extent of her pain, she is now at peace.

Being an avid reader, her love of education and her community. Our goal is to provide resources, support and opportunities to overcome challenges and build a foundation for the displaced youth in her home country of Trinidad and Tobago.
