Support for a family’s tragic loss.

We are heartbroken to share the sudden and unexpected passing of Jun. The unexpected death of a child is an unimaginable loss that no one could prepare for.

Jun Obas Jacques was a very special individual. He had a smile that would brighten anyone’s heart. If you were having a bad day and he noticed, he would be the first one to ask if you were ok. Very respectful and social young man.

Jun Obas passed away on August 6, 2025 during his very first trip to Coney Island Beach.

Jun Obas 18, was swimming in Coney Island Beach when he suffered an epileptic seizure and was found facing down and unresponsive by his young sister and mother.

Currently his family is still living in a shelter. Now they have to make arrangements to lay him to rest versus making arrangements to celebrate his upcoming 19th birthday in September.

Support would provide not just financial relief, but also encouragement during this difficult time. This kindness would mean the world.".
