My beautiful and full of love and life cousin, Joseph Lomas, died in a motorcycle accident on January 11, at 11:38 am. He was with a buddy, joy riding in the warm Florida sun, when an elderly couple turned left into a driveway and intercepted the guys, causing them to be thrown from their motorcycles.
They were wearing their helmets, but their injuries were too vast, and both were declared deceased on the scene.
The elderly couple had minimal injuries.
Joseph had just graduated high school in May and enlisted into the USMC. He was heading to boot camp this spring and was going to add his mother, my beautiful aunt, as his beneficiary and dependent to take some of the hardship off her shoulders since she has been working for so long, just barely scraping by due to her hip and back disabilities.
Joseph was the baby cousin of our family, and he was just starting his adult life. He was so proud of his gorgeous motorcycle. He loved his mother deeply and was still living at home until he would have gone to boot camp. His plan was to take care of his mother as his dependent, and now she is left to pick up her life, in grief, without her youngest child.
Our family has been through so much this year, and she’s obviously devastated. A mother should never have to bury any of her children.
Please donate if you can help to us help her begin moving her home from Florida up to North Carolina so that we can take care of her the way she’s taken care of us all (especially me this year). Anything you give will be transferred to Diana from GoFundMe to directly benefit her well-being as she moves through this season of her life.
