Honoring Ji Ada's Legacy
Donation protected
My daughter Nichelle, lovingly known as Ji Ada, was a bright, curious, and joyful four-year-old who brought light to everyone she met. With her heavy brown eyes, contagious smile, and creamy almond skin, she was wise beyond her years and endlessly creative. Living with me in Phoenix, Arizona, she was my sidekick, my mini-me, and my greatest source of strength. Ji Ada was fascinated by the world around her—she once touched a cactus just to see what it felt like, and even when the needles pricked her, she showed no fear, only curiosity. She loved going to the hair and nail salon with me, wearing her favorite outfits with Mickey Mouse, butterflies, unicorns, and Moana, and enjoying simple pleasures like Velveeta mac and cheese, spaghetti, and chocolate chip cookies. Our days were filled with laughter, from swinging at the park to singing and dancing around the house, especially to her favorite song, “Pressure” by Ari Lennox. Her giggles during “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” are memories I will always cherish.
Nichelle was diagnosed with Epilepsy and Autism at a young age, and her journey with seizures was a significant part of her life, while overcoming any challenges we faced with Autism. Despite the challenges, she conquered each day with remarkable courage and resilience. Through careful management, therapy, and her own determination, she was able to overcome many of the seizures that once disrupted her days. Her strength inspired everyone around her, showing that even the smallest among us can fight the hardest battles. She attended ABA therapy and learned to navigate the world in her own unique way, always noticing the little things that others might miss.
Her resilience and ability to find joy in the face of adversity inspired me to create "Ji Adventures," a children’s book series that celebrates her journey and gives a voice to children with unique needs. The support from this fundraiser will help cover her funeral expenses and bring her story to life, offering hope and understanding to other families. Your kindness helps us honor Ji Ada’s legacy, turning grief into purpose and ensuring her light continues to shine for others.
To everyone who has stood beside us, offered their love, their presence, or simply held space for me, thank you. Your support has wrapped itself around my heart in moments when I needed it most. Whether it was a kind word, a shared memory, a donation, a prayer, or just your silent understanding, you have reminded me that I’m not walking this journey alone. Even the smallest act of compassion can carry someone through the darkest of hours. I see you. I appreciate you. And I thank you for being part of this sacred circle of love and remembrance.
Because of you, Nichelle's light will continue to shine.
